I have a program that simplifies my job in project management, and I really appreciate it. The free version 0.7 is available in Turkish and provides everything necessary for small projects. I haven’t started using the new paid version yet because the free version meets all my needs. It’s an ideal and affordable solution for smaller projects, requiring only a good hosting environment with PHP 5 and MySQL support. The program operates online, and the setup is straightforward.

I recommend using the old version for a while before purchasing the new one. It may take some time for you and your colleagues to adapt to this kind of software, especially if you are accustomed to working via email and paper. Transitioning to a system like this can be challenging; I had difficulty changing my habits at first. There were times when I questioned why I was using this system instead of just sending a quick email. However, I realized the value when revisiting a project from a year ago. Without proper documentation, my mental clarity would decline if I only had old correspondences as reminders.

Using this program has saved me a lot of time over the past three years. I documented everything in the system without hesitation and included all relevant information. Now, even for projects from three years ago, I can access the necessary information instantly, avoiding hours spent searching through Outlook for past correspondences.

So, what is activeCollab?

It’s a simple project management system that tracks correspondence, allows you to define tasks, and manages your schedule. While “simple” might describe the free version, the new paid version offers robust features that can compete with many other software options.

For example, let’s say we have a new website project in the pipeline: the Hıdıl and Sons Barbecue Trade Corporation’s initiative for their website. They have various barbecue products, fire irons, grilles, and copper items. Presenting their company and products simultaneously is essential. You’ll need to determine the timeline and the team involved—about five people with skills in Flash, HTML, ASP, SQL, copywriting, and graphic design.

Once you finalize the timetable and project milestones, you’ll enter this information into the system along with all relevant files. Don’t rush; providing detailed information will save both time and money. Once tasks are assigned, you can handle messaging through the system, which will remind everyone of their responsibilities and send email notifications. The system will also keep track of any questions or comments regarding the project.

If someone makes a change or has a query, anyone involved in the system will be informed. This eliminates confusion and improves communication, making it easier to track responsibilities and avoid misunderstandings.

I can attest to the effectiveness of this system—it’s like being an unpaid salesman for organized communication. If you’re curious, I encourage you to explore further. We’re selling happiness through better project management solutions!
